@Somy @epoweritheta

OpenStudy (epoweritheta):

what is the magnitude of a vector ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

look at these @epoweritheta

OpenStudy (epoweritheta):

tell me @BORED

OpenStudy (somy):

umm can u screenshot ur question please?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can u past a screen shot?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh u mean in like the drawing board?

OpenStudy (epoweritheta):

do u want the answer or the method ??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no I don;t just want the answer...I'd like to know how to get the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I can't past the files...can u opne then or no?...if not i can type it just give me some time...

OpenStudy (somy):

nah u take a screenshot and make it into a pic

OpenStudy (epoweritheta):

good ,then tell me what do u mean by magnitude of a vector ???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok one sec...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Vector: Any quantity with magnitude and direction Magnitude: Corresponds to the distance from the initial point to the terminal point Use the distance formula, with the initial point being 0,0 and the terminal point being whatever it is. Initial Point: The first point at which a target is located Terminal Point: Final or limiting point • You can find the magnitude and direction of a vector when the vector is described as an ordered pair. Resultant: The sum of two vectors

OpenStudy (somy):

what is mi?

OpenStudy (epoweritheta):

yes then wat is the magnitude in the 1st problem u gave

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ummwhere are u referring to? @Somy

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well I think the magnittude is basically just the hypotenuse?

OpenStudy (somy):

whatever that it is i think u can use Pythagoras theorem dox 23

OpenStudy (epoweritheta):

superb , u got it what is it ???

OpenStudy (somy):

yes that's what i'd do

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is 52.2 approx

OpenStudy (somy):

yup that's what i got :)

OpenStudy (epoweritheta):

good , now lets come to the direction part , what is the angle the vector makes with the x axis ???|dw:1401984635522:dw| maked by a ?

OpenStudy (somy):

but its saying nearest 10th means it'll be 50

OpenStudy (anonymous):

im assuming u use something like cos sin or tan...but th e inverser to find the angle measure?

OpenStudy (epoweritheta):

ya ... now say what is the tan of that angle marked ??

OpenStudy (somy):

ok it's kinda getting messed up so i'll leave it up to @epoweritheta :)

OpenStudy (somy):

so that @B_O_R_E_D doesn't get confused

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it is 86.1???? i dont think thats rigt

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks for all ur help @Somy

OpenStudy (epoweritheta):

i will see

OpenStudy (anonymous):

*right

OpenStudy (somy):

np if there is anything just let me know :)

OpenStudy (epoweritheta):

magnitude is 52.20 lets say A is that angle tan (A)=50/15 ; so A=tan-1(50/15)=73.3 degree direction is 73.3 degrees in E-S direction Do u understand ??
