I will give a fan and medal for help!!! An isosceles trapezoid is a quadrilateral with two congruent legs, a pair of parallel bases, and congruent base angles. Prove the diagonals of an isosceles trapezoid are congruent. Be sure to create and name the appropriate geometric figures.

|dw:1402113438696:dw| hint: try to prove triangle ABD= triangle DCA

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so what is the first step to that?

OpenStudy (nikato):

why dont you tell me? how would you start it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think i would start out with seeing what segments are parallel to each i think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh wait I am stuip we already know that CD and BA are parallel

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So I think that I would start with finding the verticle angles

OpenStudy (nikato):

no need. hint: it involves SAS using whats given and AD=AD by reflexive

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok I know what SAS is but I dont get why it involves the reflexive

OpenStudy (nikato):

you need another pair of congrunet sides before you can use SAS. you are only given a pair of sides and a pair of angles.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

could we use angle CDB? that would be SAS

OpenStudy (nikato):

what would you do with CDB?
