Suppose that a certain expression is represented by f(x) and that f(3) = -5. What is one point of the graph of f ? Explain how you know

zepdrix (zepdrix):

Function notation can be a little tricky. We write it in this form:\[\Large\rm f(x)=stuff\]When you plug something in for x, you get some value for your "stuff". This stuff represents our y coordinate.\[\Large\rm f(\color{royalblue}{x})=\color{orangered}{y}\]Which gives us the coordinate point:\[\Large\rm (\color{royalblue}{x},~\color{orangered}{y})\]

zepdrix (zepdrix):

So can you figure out what one point on the graph of the function\[\Large\rm f(\color{royalblue}{3})=\color{orangered}{-5}\]might be?
