brain explosion question
absolutely no idea what to think of
rather how to think of it
@thushananth01
Think of it this way, current is going through two lamps, instead of one as before and are drawing more current. Thus there is less voltage. V=IR, P = IV, P = I^2R
u see initially for 12 V either green or red would light say at normal brightness, now after the change, both green and red are connected in series, which means the pd across each would be less hence the bulb would hve less power and light at less brightness rather dimly
@thushananth01, Thanks!
how they are connected in series? it looks parallel to me
@Somy , yes. They are connected in series, just like @thushananth01 specified. I advise to redraw the circuit, to visualize how it is in series.
i cant redraw since i have no idea how is it in series T_T
but @jmcs1985 the first image is in parallel right?
@KL-RC, technically it is in series...I'm going to show in a drawing coming up...
oh thank you
@KL-RC, @Somy, not trying to hurt your girl ;)
@Somy, @KL-RC: Let's start with a circuit in series|dw:1402174047535:dw| Think of a series circuit as one of having components "Standing" along the same line in Series.
|dw:1402174262499:dw| Parallel ciruits have the components "Put" next to one another on Parallel lines.
uhuh....see the thing is the 2nd circut I can tell it's a series but the 1st one is really a troublesome one....
@KL-RC do you meany by Somy's question or my drawing?
somy's question
No problemo! Think of it this way, if you trace around the path of the circuit, does it split into two paths or stay as one?
well I think so if I look at the point where it splits towards red green and black
or...maybe I'm looking at the wrong part =_=
@KL-RC, you're doing fine. Let me rephrase the question, does the circuit have one or two paths that both connect in a complete path from the 12V source?
i.e. does the line for the green light go back to the battery?
No I don't think so since they said about x terminal being a return path
Very good!
Oohh Ok cause I kept thinking where the heck did the rest of the part go of the green line!??
lmao
Lol, it's fine, what matters is that you and @Somy understand.
@Somy - makes sense?
understood
Now here's a question for @KL-RC, @Somy:|dw:1402175339970:dw| Parallel or Series?
