Give 4 ion fragments and their corresponding m/e values when propane is analysed in a mass spectrometer

@aaronq
do you know of how - overall - a mass spec works?
mass spectrometer converts something like propane into ions
how?
well, it'll be bombarded with stream of high-energy electrons which would collide with atoms or molecules of the sample forming positive ions
the key is.. once the ions enter a magnetic field, they are separated according to their mass to charge (m/e) ratio
so,..
sorry i was replying to someone else. So, what part do you not get?
Give 4 ion fragments...?
I'm nt sure bout this
@aaronq
what wld be the ion fragments of propane how do I get that Don't mind explaining @aaronq
the spray breaks up the molecule into all kinds of configurations, they want only the positive ions. you have to draw the molecule and then break it into pieces - in all the possible configurations.
So, I need to draw propane first
most definitely
