Question about a graph.

OpenStudy (lncognlto):

OpenStudy (lncognlto):

How would I tell which of the options it is?

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

plug in the point (0,0) into each equation

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

dont get much easier than that

random231 (random231):

http://prntscr.com/3quvmo plug in (1,2) most of the equations satisfy (0,0)

OpenStudy (lncognlto):

But surely (0,0) satisfies a few equations..

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

well it does but then you go ahead and plug the ones that do in the graphing calculator or go and pick another point

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well it can't be B or D because then it couldn't have the coordinate (0,0). I wouldn't just plug in (0,0) to any equation because it could be multiple. It can't be A because (1,2) doesn't fit in the equation. It can't be C because it doesn't fit (2,6). E fits everything, so go with that.

random231 (random231):

its B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Using B has the coordinate (0,-1), which isn't on the graph, so it's not B.

OpenStudy (lncognlto):

Ohh, okay, I see. The correct answer is satisfied by both (0,0) and (1,2). I got it. Thanks!

OpenStudy (lncognlto):

The answer is B, actually. xD

random231 (random231):

B has (0,0)

random231 (random231):

emily probably you hav done an error in calculation!

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

looks like b. to me

OpenStudy (sweetburger):

looked it up on my calculator table aswell

random231 (random231):

look at this O.o .....
