Will Fan and Medal! In Drosophila, normal wing shape is dominant to dumpy wings, and gray body is dominant to yellow. A fly homozygous for both dominant traits was crossed with a fly homozygous for both recessive traits. The F1 progeny were testcrossed. In the F2 generation there were 80 normal wing, gray body; 81 dumpy wing, yellow body; 19 normal wing, yellow body; 21 dumpy wing, gray body. These data indicate that the genes are:
a. on different chromosomes. b. linked but do not crossover. c. linked with a genetic distance of 10%. d. linked with a genetic distance of 20%. e. linked with a genetic distance of 40%.
i'd say E
And why?..
'cause normal wing shape is dominant to dumpy wings - but in the F2 generation there were 80 normal wing, gray body
and 'cause a gray body is dominant to yellow - but 81 dumpy wing, yellow body
these are the only "correct" statistics: 19 normal wing, yellow body; 21 dumpy wing, gray body
thus its like 20% or something
but 20 is too low so its gotta be 40 which is highest
lol..... Genetic linkage in % means how many centiomorgans they are apart form each other... So you aren't making sense at all.
