What does "in terms of a single trigonometric function" mean in "Factor the algebraic expression below in terms of a single trigonometric function."

OpenStudy (ddcamp):

Sometimes you'll have an ugly looking function like: sin(2x) * tan(x) You can use the trig identities, half/double angle rules, and other rules to make it only use one type of trig function. The example above can also be written as: 2sin^2(x)

I understand that I need to change it in some way, but in some, it is already in just one trig identity. Would 1/((tanx)^2) be a valid answer for csc^2x - 1?

Or would cot^2x?
