Solve using the principle of zero products -3x^2=27x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There are lots of ways that you could approach this problem. I'd start by adding 3x^2 to each side of the equation. this leaves you with 0=3x^2+27x Then you can factor out a 3x and solve from there

Do you know what the principle of zero products is? It says that for any numbers a and b, ab = 0 if and only if a = 0 or b = 0. Because anything times 0 is 0, right? You use the principle of zeros when you factor. Look at what LifeEngineer did. Solve that by factoring out a 3 and setting each factor equal to 0 and solve for x.
