I GIVEE MEDALLS What can you infer about what Lewis and Clark saw as they moved west from the Mississippi River? The land on the east coast was more fertile than the land in the west. The landscape rose sharply and then flattened as they went farther west. The Mississippi River was higher than the mountains in the east. The mountains in the west were taller than the mountains in the east. (I KNOW B IS INCCORECT)

Okay so this is a geography question. Do you have any guesses about what you would see if you were to drive from the east coast to the west?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i guess u would see moutains and land idk @bek_love

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes you would see mountains :) two major mountain ranges to be exact. the Appalachian Mountains run down the eastern seaboard while the Rocky Mountains run through a bunch of states east of California (think Colorado are)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Have you seen either set of mountains?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no like u mean in person or a map of the moutains? i think iv seen it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in person would be most helpful. do you know what a major difference is between the two mountain ranges?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

maybe that the mountains in the west were taller then the ones in the east? @bek_love

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Good guess! yes, the Rockies make the Appalachian mountains look like a bunch of mole hills.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so i got it right it was d there were taller and shorter moutains then others?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes D is the correct answer. the mountains in the east are much smaller than the mountains in the west.

OpenStudy (anonymous):
