Given the data set for the length of time a person has been jogging and the person's speed, hypothesize a relationship between the variables. A. I would expect the data to be positively correlated. B. I would expect the data to be negatively correlated. C. I would expect no correlation. D. There is not enough information to determine correlation.
Not D
Jogging is not racing. It is unlikely there is a speed plan. For example, in a real race, runners often save some speed for the end. This might be a shock to the correlation. Joggers, though, don't do that. They just run and run and run. I would guess, off the top of my head, that joggers try to maintain a consistent heart rate. Therefore, they probably try to maintain a relatively constant speed throughout the jog. On the other hand, they might get tired and slow down along the way. Well, there are some important issues. What do you think?
