This question could be re-written in several equivalent forms: "Find the roots of y=2x^2+2x-4," or "solve y-2x^2+2x-4=0." Supposing the problem statement were the latter. What would you do to find these solutions? Think: "quadratic equation." Consider: quadratic formula, factoring, graphing, and so on.
