why is an amoeba not an animal? A.its asexual B.its unicellular C.its prokaryotic D.its autotrophic

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B.It's unicellular

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The only sense that they are 'animal-like' is that they are heterotrophic (they get their energy by ingesting other organisms). However because they are unicellular, they cannot be animals. They are not really related to animals. They just happen to act more like animals than other protists (such as algae) Thus the best answer will be 'B'
