Where is the numbers?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I can't seem to understand where's the origin.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

..... me too

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it looks like a graph

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Does the origin represent the pointy arrow?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is there anymore to this question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm afraid not.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmmm, I would say that the point of the arrow would be the origin

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm not quite sure where to start from here. This question would be easier if it has numbers from x to y-axis.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@drumminboy918 I was thinking the same, but I want to get opinions from others as well. Thank you though.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem :D

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

This is a vector

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

it has a `head` and a `tail`

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, how do I start that?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

|dw:1403114461413:dw|

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

start at `Tail`

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Then the rest of it is magnitude.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1403114528798:dw|

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

yes but we don't need magnitude.. we just need to represent that vector in component form

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What am I doing here? Am I adding, substracting vectors?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

Start from Tail : the vector is going `3` grids to the left, and `4` grids to the down

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh okay, I get it now (hopefully). So I start at the tail then work my way out my counting to the left which is 3. Then work my way down which leads me to -4.

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

looks you nailed it !!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The answer would be 3,-4, correct?

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

left side is negative, so the x component is : \(\color{red}{-}\)3

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

answer would be (-3, -4)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Hmm.. you're probably right. I'm always have those signs problem. Thanks.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I*

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

np :) think of walking on number line - walking left is negative direction walking right is positive direction

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Understandable :)

ganeshie8 (ganeshie8):

good :)
