Is the sequence 5, 9, 15, ... an arithmetic sequence?

geerky42 (geerky42):

arithmetic sequence basically mean "adding" So the difference between one term and next term must be same to other term and its next term. Make sense? So what's the difference between 5 and 9?

geerky42 (geerky42):

@rebecca-van-eck ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The answer would be no, because the sequence must have a common difference, "d". 9-5 is 4 and 15-9 is 6; therefore, it is not an arithmetic sequence.
