√ 75/2 + 3√ 2/4 = ?

OpenStudy (dan815):

Can you clarify the question, is it \[\sqrt{75/2} \quad or \\ \frac {\sqrt {75}}{2}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

√ 75 over 2

OpenStudy (dan815):

Okay

OpenStudy (dan815):

\[\frac {\sqrt{75}}{2} +3\frac{\sqrt{2}}{4} =\frac {\sqrt{25*3}}{2} +3\frac{\sqrt{2}}{4} \] \[=\frac {5\sqrt{3}}{2} +3\frac{\sqrt{2}}{4}=\frac{10\sqrt{3}+3\sqrt{2}}{4} \]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How did you get that?

OpenStudy (dan815):

apply the sqrt to 25 gives you 5, and then add with the common denominator

OpenStudy (anonymous):

where does the 25 come from?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If anyone can explain this to me that would be great. :)
