Yeah! You see, all of these are just comparisons, treat them like = signs:
\[> \le \ge =\]
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Ok thanks
OpenStudy (anonymous):
The only thing is, when you divide by a - number, you flip the sign around.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so -x > 4 comes out to
x < -4
OpenStudy (anonymous):
to multiply?

Multiplying by a negative number has the same effect.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
ohhhh i see
OpenStudy (anonymous):
x/-1 > 4
x < -4
OpenStudy (anonymous):
It's all just comparing two things.
X is larger than x.
x is equal to x.
x is smaller than X
OpenStudy (anonymous):
How do you determine which way the sign??

The sign always eats the bigger number.
4 > 1
55 > -1
-1 > -5
4 < 30
OpenStudy (anonymous):
But some statements can be false, so if you're given something like:
2 + 1 > 4 + 5
3 > 9
Then the equation has no solution.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So, to some this up, YOU JUST GOT SCHOOLED! :)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Ok your a math magician. Thanks for all of the help if i knew you, I would buy you fried chicken, kool-aid, and watermelon
