***sheriff

this question is kinda confusing. All three of those respond to these incidents. So I'm thinking D actually

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wait did you mean to put all of the above...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no,why would you call everbody. just call the local sherrif excahnge information and the police will get the paramedics involved If there is any significant damage to a vehicle or property, you must contact the police.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Think about it like this, If you were in a collision in the city limits of say, Tampa or Lakeland or whatever, The officer from said city would be the responder. If you were on I4, FHP would probably respond. but if you were in the SO juris. Thenthey would respond. So, I think it would be D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

FHP is police.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

true... but i drive. in florida.. and i think it has to be one.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

All three options are sworn law enforcement officers. Just with different jurisdictions. FHP state troopers have jurisdiction in the state of Florida. The Sheriff has jurisdiction within the county of his office. Local police has jurisdiction within city limits. SO usually stays out of city limits, and FHP usually sticks with the highway systems.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay. i guess your right. with all your facts.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm an explorer for my local Police dept. Say my adviser was dispatched to a traffic accident, which happens a lot in his area He would handle the accident. That's the same for a deputy and a trooper. The agency that holds the jurisdiction responds to the call. Though FHP and the deputy can respond within city limits, they don't usually. The sheriff deputy generally does calls within county lines but generally not within city limits. They generally leave it to the police officer. Now Florida runs by a Highway Patrol Model, which means that our main state law agency is the FHP. They have jurisdiction anywhere in the state, but they will usually leave calls to the SO or PD if at all possible within jurisdiction. But they will do highways.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The whole thing about it is, it really depends on where you are and the significance of the call, and the closest available officer/ deputy/ trooper
