given: g(x)= 2x+1 Substituting x = a+h we find g(a+h)= 2(a+h)+1 i.e. g(a+h)= 2a+2h+1 ----(1 Next let us replace x by a we find: g(a)= 2a+1 ----(2 Now subtracting (2 from (1 we find: g(a+h) -g(a) = 2a+2h+1-(2a+1) i.e. g(a+h) -g(a) = 2a+2h+1-2a-1 i.e. g(a+h) -g(a) = 2h which is the required answer. @tmoneycash3
