how does this g(x)*r(x)=2*0.5(1.1)^x turn into this g(x)*r(x)=x*(1.1)^x, like where did the 2x and 0.5 go?

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

I assume your original equation is: g(x)*r(x)=2x*0.5(1.1)^x Did you miss the x after the 2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh yea! sorry its g(x)*r(x)=2x*0.5(1.1)^x

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

OK - now look at just this product: 2x * 0.5 Can you simplify it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i dont think so..

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

what about: 2 * 0.5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea just multiply them together

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

and you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1... ohhhh 1x = x

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

perfect! :)

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

I assume you know the answer now :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea! thank you!!
