write the domain and range of the function in interval notation q(x)=(x-5)^3

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

are you able to graph this function?

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

\(\large\color{midnightblue}{ q(x)=(x-5)^3 }\) Domain can be any real number, and Range can be any real number as well, because `x-5` isn't raised to an even power, and there is no square root or any other thing that would cause some range restrictions.

OpenStudy (solomonzelman):

You just need to re-word the domain/range. When you say that all real numbers fit, you are saying that all real positive and all real negative numbers fit for domain/range. all negative numbers are written as -∞ in interval notation and all positive real numbers are written as ∞ in interval notation. If you have any questions about how to write the domain and/or range in an interval notation in general....ask
