What is T(-6, 5) of the point (-1, -2)?
@Miracrown this is about translations and reflections
well point T is on the 2 quadrant and the ? point is in the 4th quadrant. so what can you infer from that??
they are reflections?
i dont think it is a reflection. if the point was reflected the ? point would be on the 3rd or 2nd quadrant. so i believe that it is translation
lol what? so what would the answer be? @FriedRice
wait there is only 2 options right?
yep
translation and reflection?
ok
i would pick translation
well no there actually weren't any choices!
am i suppose give a reasoning?
no not really. can you help with one more?
yeah sure
Start with the point A (3, 1). Translate the point 1 unit to the left and 4 units down. What are the new coordinates of the point A’? Now translate A’ 3 unit to the left and 2 units up. What are the new coordinates of the point A’’? What translation would need to be made in order for the result to be the original point A (3, 1)?
did you draw it out because it will surely help you..
no i didn't
@FriedRice i have to submit this assignment by 10:00 and im nowhere close to done. can you help me please?
when i drew the thing i got a reflection
try drawing it youll understand
ok so what would the answer be?
but the question has multiple answers to it?
What are the new coordinates of the point A’?What are the new coordinates of the point A’’? What translation would need to be made in order for the result to be the original point A (3, 1)?
well the first coord would be (2,-3) the second would be (-1,-1)
and the third?
translation
What translation would need to be made in order for the result to be the original point A (3, 1)?
translation>>>>>answer
how is that the answer? doesn't it have to be a type of translation or something?
translation simply means moving to a different point
How are the coordinates of a new point found if the point is reflected through the x-axis? How are the coordinates of a new point found if the point is reflected through the y-axis?
