How are the coordinates of the new point found if it is rotated 90° counterclockwise? How many degrees is that equivalent to if the rotation is clockwise? How are the coordinates of the new point found if it is rotated 180° counterclockwise? How many degrees is that equivalent to if the rotation is clockwise?
@mathmale
i only need help with the second question?
Hello, Vera! You could make a drawing. Seeing a good illustration of this situation would likely give you ideas regarding how to answer question #2.
there is a drawing with the question. i'm just not sure what the answer would be?
Please, always post everything that came with a given question. Need to see that illustration.
360 - 270 = 90 <--- would that be my answer?
i don't have the illustration. part of a study guide that i don't have anymore @mathmale please help!!!
Can you yourself sketch an appropriate illustration, then?
no i can't. for the 1st question i got: Set x' = -y and y' = x where a' denotes the new coordinate. This is equivalent to a 270 degree clockwise rotation. what numbers would i plug into this answer for the next question?
