OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do you factor an equation with 4 terms?

OpenStudy (amistre64):

factoring is always an art ... but it seems like 'by grouping' might be a good method

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[4w ^{3}-3w ^{2}-20w+15\] this is the equation

OpenStudy (amistre64):

by grouping then

OpenStudy (amistre64):

4 and 20 have a common factor, 3 and 15 have a common factor, try grouping them and factoring out

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Any way you can. The most helpful method, in my opinion, is to find a zero.
