What is the function of the lysosome in eukaryotic cells? A. The lysosome uses messenger RNA to synthesize proteins. B. The lysosome secretes enzymes to break down large molecules. C. The lysosome modifies proteins and sends them to where they are needed. D. The lysosome takes in nutrients and breaks them down to provide energy for the cell.
what do u think?
I'll give you a hint: the lysosomes is considered the garbage disposal system of the cell.
watch this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PJOyECTaQ8E very nice video helps you remember things better
its about organelles and their function
so B
Bingo !
Thx guys
@Nicksl99 We don't give straight answers here, only help getting to the answer.
no probs :)

and @thomaster is correct !
lysosome is derived from lysis and soma, meaning to loosen and body. Means that it's a body that loosens up things, in this case it can disintegrate cells and large molecules into smaller pieces :)
It also performs autolytic activities and hence is called as suicidal bags !
