OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

i'm new to this can i get some help

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

@Whitemonsterbunny17

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

\(\Large\cal\color{red}H\color{gold}E\color{greenyellow}L\color{lime}L\color{cyan}O\color{blue}!\) \(\Large\cal\color{purple}{Welcome}~\color{magenta}{to}~\color{blue}{LaTeX!}\)

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

that is awesome

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

To start, we'll go over the basics.

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Always start a command with \(\

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

and end a command with \)

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

ok

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

So, to start, you choose a size. For example, this: (remove the spaces) \ ( \normalsize

sammixboo (sammixboo):

@Whitemonsterbunny17 is the best person who can help you ;)

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

The various sizes are: \tiny \scriptsize \small \normalsize \large \Large \LARGE \huge \Huge

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

\(\normalsize like so?

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Exactly!! (:

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

yay

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Then, you choose your font.

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

The fonts are: \sf \tt \it \bf \rm \cal \scr \frak

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

do you end your parenthesis after the size though or put a slash

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

So then it would look like this: \(\normalsize\cal

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

ok

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Just put a slash.

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Because your command isn't finished yet.

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

ok then put what i want in it and then do the color?

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

To do color: \color{colorname} Example: \(\normalsize\cal\color{red}

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

then do you put what you want to say?

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

or is that at the end

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

You type in the letters you desire, yes. If you want to make a whole word in one color, put the whole word in brackets {} Example: \(\normalsize\cal\color{red}{Hello}

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

ok

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

\(\Huge\cal\color{blue}{so like this?}\)

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

yay

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

so just do that but repetitively

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Yes! That is a very good start! So, to add spaces, between your words you can either insert a ~ or for more specific spacing, you can insert something like this \hspace{5 pt} Example: \(\normalsize\cal\color{red}{Hello!}~\color{red}{How}~\color{red}{are}~\color{red}{you?}

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

I generally do this: \(\normalsize\cal\color{red}{Hello!}\hspace{5 pt}\{How}\hspace{5 pt}{are}\hspace{5 pt}{you?}

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

where did you find the s looking thing

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

just have to ask

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

it's next to the ! and the 1 on your keyboard.. to the left of it.

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

found it

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

i feel a little bit stuupid now

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Don't feel stupid, we all get lost sometimes! xD

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

XD

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

Try out LaTeX with spacing (:

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

ok

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

\(\small\cal\color{neon blue}{I}\hspace{5pt}\color{blue}{think}\hspace{5pt}{I}\hspace{5pt}{got}\hspace{5pt}{it}\)

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

yay

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

i did it

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

gtg later i will keep on practicing

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

\(\large\color{red}A\color{gold}W\color{greenyellow}E\color{lime}S\color{cyan}O\color{blue}M\color{purple}E\color{magenta}!\) and okay, just tag me when you're back. (:

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Great topic, great discussion. Next time, post such discussions in the LaTeX practice section, OK?

whitemonsterbunny17 (whitemonsterbunny17):

.. It is in the LaTeX Practicing section. @mathmale :p

OpenStudy (mathmale):

I'll take your word for it. But on my screen, at least, you're in Mathematics. Never mind; the problem is with OpenStudy, not with you.

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

can i get any help from here from anybody

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

@thomaster

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

\(\normalsize\cal\color{cyan}{Hi!!!}\)

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

@Abhisar

OpenStudy (abhisar):

How can i help u ?

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

\(\small\bf\color{cyan}{yes}\)

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

how do you do multiple colors?

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

\(\Huge\frak\color{red}{{H}}\Huge\color{orange}{{e}}\Huge\color{yellow}{{l}}\Huge\color{green}{{l}}\Huge\color{blue}{{o}}\)

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

\(\Huge\frak\color{cyan}{Once~again}\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\(\tiny\frak\color{red}{i!}\hspace{5 pt}\{don't}\hspace{5 pt}{get}\hspace{5 pt}{it!}\)

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

when your are doing multiple letters in one sentence you have to use 2 brackets in your words like so \(\tiny\frak\color{red}{{i!~don't~get~it~}

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

the way that i just showed you is a lot easier to do then the hspace thing it takes a lot longer but if you want to be precise then use hspace

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

\(\Huge\frak\color{cyan}{{You~still~their?}}\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yessss i here

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I'm trying to do it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how'd you do that? can u give me the code and I feel it out from there

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

\(\Huge\bf\color{cyan}{{O}}\Huge\color{orange}{{k}}\)

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

fan me reely quickly

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

\(\Huge\bf\color{red}{{T}}\Huge\color{orange}{{h}}\Huge\color{yellow}{{e}}\Huge\color{lightgreen}{{i}}\Huge\color{cyan}{{r}}\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\(\frak\normalsize\bf\color{cyan}{{Ooooh~}}\normalsize\color{aqua}{{coooool}}\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank yooou

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

\(\Huge\bf\color{cyan}{n}\Huge\color{orange}{p}\)

OpenStudy (rockstar0765):

so do you get it
