U guys? help me please!! In the figure below, lines r and s are parallel. What is the measure of angle three? Explain how you know.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@aric200 @elementwielder @aum

OpenStudy (aric200):

Do 4x + 42 + 10 x = 180

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats wrong aric

OpenStudy (aric200):

... How so

OpenStudy (aric200):

Not They do not equal each other?

OpenStudy (aum):

The angles marked 4x+42 and 10x are corresponding angles and therefore they are equal. 4x + 42 = 10x. Solve for x first.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes i was right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol thought i was wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So what would be the explanation? in complete sentences? anyone?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@aum

OpenStudy (aric200):

No comment.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry cant help further... all i know is that you had to find x first

OpenStudy (aum):

4x+42 and 10x are corresponding angles and therefore they are equal. 4x + 42 = 10x 42 = 6x x = 7 The angles marked 3 and 10x are vertical opposite angles and they are equal Therefore angle 3 = 10x = 10*7 = 70.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank youuuuu finaly!! <3 @aum

OpenStudy (aum):

You are welcome.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow... so easy i feel stupid

OpenStudy (aric200):

Least you didnt get anything wrong :I

OpenStudy (anonymous):
