To some people, "enormity" means a high degree of wickedness or something that has a high degree of wickedness. To other people, "enormity" means a high degree of hugeness or something with a high degree of hugeness. If you want to write about something very large, the best policy would be: a) use "enormity" because few people ever heard of it meaning wickedness b) use "enormity" because it should mean bigness, and you are reforming the language c) use "enormousness" so everyone knows what you mean, and you avoid the controversy.
C, I guess. Weird, I always thought that it only meant something huge, or of great importance (the /enormity/ of the situation was dizzying; everywhere I looked, something unexpected was happening).
I would use C, but not as a first choice of effective communication for emphasis on very large, enormous, or high detail within/for projects. I do not think "enormousness" is a word... is it? Please tell me!
Why, yes, "enormousness" is a word.
That is straight up awesomeness.
