How do you represent the (decimal) integer 50 in, oh, "hexadecimal," otherwise known as base-16? Recall that decimal is simply base-10, and binary is simply base-2. Infer from those base systems how to represent this one!

OpenStudy (hari5719):

google it

OpenStudy (mathmate):

1. Divide by 16, and the first remainder is the right-most digit in hex. 2. If the quotient is greater than 16, then divide the quotient to get he remainder as the next digit (to the left). Repeat 2 until the quotient is less than 16. The last quotient is the left-most digit. Example: Convert \(1728_{10}\) to hexadecimal \[1728\div16=108 \ R\color{red}0\] \[108\div16=\color{blue}6 \ R\color{green}{12}\] Since \(\color{green}{12}\) is written in hex as \(\color{green}C\), we have the result as \(\color{blue}6\color{green}C\color{red}0\).
