I know this Article III of the Constitution outlines the federal judicial branch but gives less detail for this branch than it does for the others. It only names the Supreme Court, but acknowledges that each state has its own courts to deal with state laws. The article gives Congress the power to establish "inferior courts," meaning federal courts under the Supreme Court, and set rules for states in establishing their own courts. Congress also has the power to determine the types of cases each court may hear and the punishments or compensation related to a trial outcome. As a result, the organization and powers of the federal courts have changed over time. Actions of Congress and the court's decisions have increased the power of the federal courts. But i still can't figure it out...
