Why do you think that the U.S. military was just as concerned with the ability to judge the effects of the nuclear bombs on their targets as they were with the military objectives?
@Jumperman
When you are trying to end a war, you need to find a way to take down your enemy so that he has no choice but to forfeit. They had to think about that as their military objective, but they needed to think how to make the atomic bomb possible. Leon Szilard majorly affected how the atomic bomb was made. He was the one who came up with Fusion and fission, which was basically the combining and splitting of the atom.
What were some of the long-term effects of dropping nuclear bombs?
Radiation is probably the longest affect. Memories and radiation.
What do you think the world might be like today if the United States had not dropped the atomic bombs on Japan?
The War might have lasted longer. That's for sure. But who knows, the Cold War might not have happened when it did. Speculation doesn't help us achieve what might happen. It helps us see the potential possibilities if the people who were in power were smart, but history is history and the government officials made their decisions.
What groups were targeted by the Nazis and why?
Jews and anybody who had a disorder were targeted by Nazis. I explained this in your last question.
oh ok.. Why would many Holocaust survivors want to share their painful stories today?
Are these your own questions?
no
How are the Armenian, Ukrainian, and Chinese genocides similar and different from the Holocaust?
Well, a reason why Holocaust survivors would share there stories is for people to understand what was really going on. Many governments would be hiding what they did. So the truth comes out. Another reason is because maybe the survivors see things in current governments today that could potentially similar to what was in Germany and don't want to see that happen again.
The main reason is because the Holocaust got more attention then the others. That's the difference. The main similarity is that thy all targeted someone they thought was a lower class of people.
How can social media affect the start, duration, or scope of a modern genocide?
The anti gay rights, the anti gun rights. All that stuff, anyone who unites together to stand against certain things, especially in America, will be considered a threat. That just gives them the opinion that they should exterminate anyone who stands against them.
Border Patrol is another one.
What benefits did the United States see in providing aid in the form of the Marshall Plan?
Well the United States were trying to rebuild much of Europe, especially Germany. United States just became a superpower after World War II. The Depression finally ended for the Unites States, so the U.S. helped the European nations end the Depression in their countries.
After the conclusion of World War II, how did the Soviet Union attempt to challenge the "supremacy" of the United States?
The Soviet Union now had the key for creating atomic bombs. And since Germany and Britain were no longer a major world power, the USSR decided to threaten the U.S. with Nuclear bombs. The USSR had a similar approach that Hitler had. Take over the countries and put them under Communism. Many nations distressed over this, and USSR decided to challenge these nations, and one of them was the United States.
What circumstances worked to make the United Nations a stronger organization than the League of Nations?
Because it would include Germany and many other nations to be unified uner the United Nations.
