Yet again, I'm confused by the poor choices when it comes to how people are banned.

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

Commit naughty act in presence of a moderator = free pass to Suspensionland

OpenStudy (secretx_x):

Not only that, people can be suspended even for the slightest issue that users think are harmless. There are many ways to earn yourself a suspension on OpenStudy. - direct answers - avoiding warnings - evading suspensions - swearing/cursing - rude/sexual behavior - cheating And many more things. Sometimes people are community banned (not suspended by a moderator but by the community). Most of the rules are listed in the CoC. Everyone is expected to follow them when they first sign up. When you first sign up, you're agreeing to the privacy policy that you will indeed follow everything on here. If however, you feel you were suspended by accident or that your suspension was in fact unfair, you can then email abuse@openstudy.com or contact@openstudy.com The administration can look into your case and decide whether or not it was a reasonable punishment for you. Making new accounts to figure out why you were suspended does nothing but add to suspensions.

And mods are not the only thing that can ban you. If you get a certain amount of reports from different people you will get an automatic suspension, without a mod's approval, and it is called a Community Ban. Trust me -,- I got community Banned 3 times a few weeks ago all in the same week!

OpenStudy (adrynicoleb):

Thanks Bruce >.< And yeah what everyone else said....-.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

The site is intended to be for educational purposes. The content level is intend to be rated G. Not PG, but G. So anything outside of those parameters can land people in trouble. The admins ask the mods to steer things in those directions. If mods are getting lots of reports or seeing more rule breaking than usual, they do not always have many choices in stopping the problems cold.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

I mean, the actual rules are in the Terms: http://openstudy.com/terms-and-conditions And the first three things listed in the Code: http://openstudy.com/code-of-conduct All the rest of the code is a set of examples of what they mean by Be nice, etc. So the rule that is being enforced 99% of the time is in chat violations of "be nice." In postings, most of it is no direct answers.
