Help I have fallen at math and I cant answer this question

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Graph the inequality three times n minus four is less than or equal to twenty-three. A number line labeled in increments of one from two through twelve. An open dot is placed at three and an arrow extends from that dot toward the left. A number line labeled in increments of one from two through twelve. A closed dot is placed at three and an arrow extends from that dot toward the left. A number line labeled in increments of one from two through twelve. An open dot is placed at nine and an arrow extends from that dot toward the left. A number line labeled in increments of one from two through twelve. A closed dot is placed at nine and an arrow extends from that dot toward the left.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@LearningIsAwesome

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Well, you could start by translating it to math symbols and working out some places to test.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You want to get 3n-3≤23 into slope intercept form, do you know how to do that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I dont know how I just started this today

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

No LearningIsAwesome, this is not a cartesian graph. It is a number line.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Learning I have no clue

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh, I thought we were graphing it.. nevermind!

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

The 3n-3≤23 part is important tho. Wiggle, do you know how to solve that for n? As in, get n alone and all the number on the other side.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No!!!

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Ah, except it is 3n-4≤23

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@bigdog199

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Well, if I have something like x-4=2, what would I do to solve for x? Just as an example. What is done there?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4+2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Idk sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

it ok

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Well, my point was this: x-4=2 x-4+4=2+4 x=6 You can do the same sort of thing with: 3n-4≤23 Add 4 to both sides.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

which number

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

What do you mean which number? Add 4 to both sides of 3n-4≤23 is a complete idea, so I do not know what you are asking.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What sides there are 3 numbers

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

In math, sides are a reference to the =, \(\le\), \(\ge\), <, >, and \(\ne\). So in this case: the sides of 3n-4≤23 are split around the ≤.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I still dont fluttering understand are you sayin 4 and 23

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

From your question: Graph the inequality three times n minus four is less than or equal to twenty-three. Graph the inequality 3 times n minus 4 is less than or equal to 23. Graph the inequality 3n - 4 is < or = to 23. Graph the inequality 3n-4≤23

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what just tell me the dam answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

!!!!!

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

First, do you realize you are speaking to a moderator. Second, OpenStudy is not an answer site. Read the Code of Conduct here: http://openstudy.com/code-of-conduct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@WiggleWiggleWiggle , CALM YOURSELF. He is trying to help you, so that you can do it yourself and don't need other's help!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1. This is my first dam day it did not ask me about some stupid code of conduct. 2. Everyone tells other a answer so go ban everyone in the hole site. 3. your a pretty bad dam moderator.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats what open study is for help from others if you dont know the answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now I have better things to do so flutter off

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@WiggleWiggleWiggle That's not what OS is. You need to chill.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

OpenStudy, as in an Open web site that helps people Study. When you make an account, you agree to follow the rules. If you want to follow the rules, people here can help you study. If all you want are answers, go somewhere else.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes it fluttering is i had another mod tell me what this site was about and thats what he said

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and do you not realize you are cursing and kids are on this site so i suggest you get off the computer and take a break and then once your calm come back to this website and ask for help again

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Wiggle, every day several people are suspended for just giving answers. Every day the online school moderators, and yes, there are moderators that are employees of online schools, go through and look for people using OpenStudy to cheat. They correlate what they find against their schools and find some of these people. So there actually are people that have failed an entire class because they used OpenStudy to cheat. We don't want that to happen, but it does. So rather than use OS to cause yourself problems, use it to study when you need a tutor.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I dont need to fluttering calm done feathers

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Oh, and what the other mod really told you: "This site is not for assisting cheaters. Please be prepared to participate in solving your problems along with those trying to help you, not simply getting answers." We track what mods tell people, so please, stop trying to lie about how you have been warned.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Dang @e.mccormick look at you go, you're kicking some serious butt today lol xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh really because no mod really told me anything dumb retrice

OpenStudy (anonymous):

on this account they did but on the other account they did not

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they just told me to stop cursing tho

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

So you are saying that talking to you is not talking to you? It is still the same you and it is still the same rules. The account name does not matter, even the junk ones you made. What is said is said to YOU, not the account.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and on my other account I got banned becuase my username was flutterwhatsaname77 and a mod got affended

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im sayin that he did not talk to me so you were fluttering made a lie about you keedping pellet on record

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

LOL. You just said they did. So how is it a lie? And guess what... they track when people make multiple accounts too.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they did on other accounts not wigglewigglewiggle so you lied about wigglewigglewiggle being on record dumb pellet

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@geerky42 @mathstudent55 @homeisawsome Ok who do you think is right dont just say him because hes a mod

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Dude, like I said, we cross link accounts. You admitted it was sent to you. I also said that messages are meant for you, as a person, and not the account. So all you are doing is lying again and again and again. And I don't care who else you ask. If you think I am wrong, ask abuse@openstudy.com. They deal with mod policy issues. And guess who they will support on this.

geerky42 (geerky42):

gee i have to read the whole thing to see who's right...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No you dont

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The mod that I talked to on this account asked me if I had any other accounts because I told him I deserved to be banned that means he did not know also at first he said I could say anything because this was not being recorded

geerky42 (geerky42):

well, i didn't read whole thing, but remember, mods have power over you and me, so show some respect to them. i tried to outsmart mods before and guess what happened, i got suspended, regardless to who's right...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was banned for 74 hours for your info since you like to stalk people

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Um, when did I ever ask you about different accounts? Never. I pulled info from them and showed it to you. Like I said, we track the multiple accounts and you just lie all the time.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that is abuse of their power right their

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not you on this account I got banned before because I told a mod I deserved it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have better things to do so bye

OpenStudy (anonymous):

also if your right they should not need to ban you that is what I ment about abuse of their power

geerky42 (geerky42):

just contact abuse@openstudy.com if you think mob abuse his power. seriously, it is pointless to argue with mob...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you I did not know their was such a thing I will do that

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Have you ever actually read the CoC? It was written by the admins, not the mods. Ever look at the language they use? They talk a lot about be nice, be friendly, etc. But they also have things like "If you create new accounts to bypass a suspension, you will be permanently banned from the site. No questions asked." in there. The admins are dead serious about the site. So don't even try to talk about abuse because you have no clue what it even is. OpenStudy is a private site owned by a corporation. By law, they have every legal right to limit and eliminate unwanted content from their site. Remember, freedom of speech is ONLY in effect for the government and does NOT apply to companies and private web sites. So what we do as moderators is legal and only regulated by the rules the company makes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that is a email right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Your not being friendly because at first I was just joking with the cursing

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

When have I even talked about your cursing?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you just said to that open study is a open site now your saying it is private

OpenStudy (anonymous):

also you just said that you need to be nice I was being nice but then you took it the wrong way good day retricehole im leaving so you can masterbate

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Do they charge you admission to walk in a mall? No. Because a mall is an open space. But do they lock it up at night? Yes. Because it is private and owned by a company. Learn the meanings of words before you try to use them in arguments.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to fake girl friend

geerky42 (geerky42):

enjoy your suspension, i guess.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How about you because openstudy dose not have time limits to where you need to get off

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im not talking about you geerky

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

What I am saying is that Open does not mean Unregulated. They are different words.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right now I bet your just looking up words so you can win this arrgument

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Log out, and come to OpenStudy with a guest account. You can still see everything. Thus, the site is Open.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I know that is how I got into openstudy

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Actually, I don't need to look them up... and I have told you again and again where the meaning is defined. Here, since you can't click a link: Keep in mind that OpenStudy is an open, transparent system where everyone can see all your posts, chats, comments, questions and answers. So OpenStudy documents your greatness and your helpfulness. If on the other hand you do not follow our code or post inappropriate content that is creepy, rude, or violates your school's Honor Code, it is also openly viewable. We care about you. So our advice is to be nice and honest. There it is. How the admins use the term open.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If on the other hand you do not follow our code or post inappropriate content that is creepy, rude, or violates your school's Honor Code, None of this violates my school code

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Do you see the word or?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ya I do the things I am doing do not abuse the code of my school

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

I never said you were. Do you know the difference between and and or when used in a list? As in how these are different: This, that, and the other. This, that, or the other.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes smart donkey

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I do

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now bye

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Then why are you bringing up your honor code?
