OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do i find the slope of a graph

OpenStudy (anonymous):

use the formula y=mx+b and plug in

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if youre trying to finde the slope you obviously have an equation, you would plug in the numbers of the eqution into y=mx+b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for example you have x/8+25 =0

geerky42 (geerky42):

"obviously have an equation" you know, he could be given graph

OpenStudy (anonymous):

add 25 to 8=33 1/33x=0 multplie bothe sides by 33 x=0.(33) x=0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

use y=mx+b and you see that this equatiion is undefined

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there is the graph

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@geerky42 that's true my bad

OpenStudy (anonymous):

did you recieve the graph?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i cannot view it sorry

OpenStudy (anonymous):

your computer wont let you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Intercept=8 since that is where the line touches the y axis. Slope=-2/3 since you go down 2 times then forward 3 to get to the next point. So your equation is \[y=\frac{ -2 }{3 }x+8\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

omg thank you damian

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Did that make sense? I can post a picture of how to find the slope for the graph you posted.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

o that would be nice

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Give me a few moments.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you see this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Rise is also the same thing going down only that it's negative.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

o ok thanks
