Marxism an feminism are both broad political movements as well as sociological perspective.why might those who adopt these perspective want to change society as well as study it?

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Well, these movements have specific viewpoints. They think certain things are right. Now, correct or not, what does a person do when they think their way is the right way?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they try to make changes :o. thanks!

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

Yes, and they also have a certain bias. For example, a radical feminist may feel any woman that wants to be a house wife is repressed. It would not matter if the house wife truly wanted to be one, the feminist is biased on that topic.

OpenStudy (e.mccormick):

So attempt to effect change based on their view, but less open to other views because of their bias. And even if they only study other things, it will reflect the bias. Marx made a viewpoint that largely shaped how Lennin decided to do things... but then Stalin drifted more and more off the path and Soviet Marxism became Soviet Communism. This shows that even the bias is not absolute. People will make personal changes that are outside the overall sociological viewpoint.
