OpenStudy (daisy.xoxo619):

The perp. bis of a side of a scalene triangle passes through a vertex of the triangle. ALWAYS/ SOMETIMES/ NEVER

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1404978123856:dw|

OpenStudy (nikato):

I don't think it's possible

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A perpendicular bisector means perpendicular to that line so: |dw:1404978208434:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

As you notice a line that is perpendicular to a scalene triangle seems to pass through the vertex but how about if we move our point where perpendicular?

OpenStudy (daisy.xoxo619):

I'm confused :(

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1404978310642:dw|

OpenStudy (anonymous):

If you have a line X and a line perpendicular to X named line Y then it looks like this:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|dw:1404978534278:dw|

OpenStudy (daisy.xoxo619):

OK

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So based on the triangles above how often does the perpendicular bisect cross the vertex?

OpenStudy (daisy.xoxo619):

2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Based on the answers given?

OpenStudy (daisy.xoxo619):

1 time

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Based on your answer choices how often: Always, sometimes, or never?

OpenStudy (daisy.xoxo619):

alwaays..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In the second triangle when we moved the bisector you said it only crossed 1 time so it did not cross always.

OpenStudy (daisy.xoxo619):

so sometimes...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Correct because depending on where the bisector is the line may cross he vertex point.

OpenStudy (daisy.xoxo619):

thxz:)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

My pleasure.
