what is the smallest f(x) can be?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
I'm not sure
OpenStudy (anonymous):
okay, what's the smallest sin can be?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
I really don't knoww:( Sorry I'm pretty bad at math
OpenStudy (anonymous):
keep saying that and you always will be...
\(-1\le \sin \le 1\)
f(x) = 4sin(blah)-1 => 4(-1)-1=-5 is the smallest f(x) can be.
why? because -1 doesn't change. the only thing that changes is the value of sin. the smallest it can be is -1.
does that make sense?

You're right haha I guess I should be more optimistic about math. & yes that does make sense
OpenStudy (anonymous):
okay, so what is the smallest g(x) can be?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
-1?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
wait -3?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
there you go!
how what about h(x)?

f(x) = 4(-1)-1 = -5 when sin = -1
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yep
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Truuuue thank you loads!
OpenStudy (anonymous):
you're welcome!
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yep, just post them separately that way all can join in on the fun
