I entered this function on Mathway.com, and had it graph the function. y = -6x - 15 But for some reason, -6x becomes (1,-21). I have absolutely no clue how it converts like that. Could someone please explain?
What are you wanting to do with this? It's a pretty simple equation...
I just don't understand how to graph, I guess. I don't know what i'm doing wrong. I go down 15 for the Y value, and to the left twice for the X value.
I go left 6 times*
In the form y = mx + b, the m is the slope and the b is the y intercept. Stay with me here cuz this is really great to know.
I know slope intercept form
That is an ordered pair that fits the equation. No this is not how you graph. -15= the y-intercept so you got the first part right but second wrong.
I just don't know how to graph the X value
Your equation is y = -6x-15, so your 'b' is -15. That's where the graph goes through the y axis, like this:
Dude, I know that. I don't know where to put X.
Is there something I need to do to the coeffecient before I plot it?

just chill...
My apologies
Your slope is -6 so you go DOWN six units from your intercept and over to the right 1. Like this:
Ok
You don't need to draw it, lol
