Y=2x+3 x+2y=16

I'm assuming you're solving for x and y I like using substitution best, especially since you already have the first equation solved for y Take the right side of the first equation and plug that in where you have a y in the second equation, which would mean you'd have x+2(2x+3)=16 Then distribute, simplify, and solve for x x+4x+6=16 5x=10 x=2 Then, take that value for x and plug it into one of the equations to get your y solution I'm going to plug it into the first equation, but it doesn't matter which one you use y=2(2)+3 y=7 So your solution is (2,7)
