Aristotle believed that the planets move around the sun in elliptical orbits. true or false???

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i would've said true earlier but i was looking some things up. Helios means sun and Geo means earths

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Newton's model of a heliocentric universe doesn't put the Sun at the exact center (although the center would actually be INSIDE the sun). Newton's model held that the center of the solar system (universe at the time) was a common center of mass for the sun, the planets, etc.

your fine! thank you love

Aristotle believed that the planets move around the sun in elliptical orbits. true or false? @Vandreigan

OpenStudy (anonymous):

false

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The Big Bang Theory is supported by evidence that space is expanding between galaxies and by radiation that is coming from all directions. what about this one? true right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

WhisperZ is correct. Before Copernicus, you'll be hard pressed (if it's even possible) to find a heliocentric model. Most were geocentric, which meant they thought things orbited around the earth, not the sun.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you post these seperately in seperate posts

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and if you could pass me a medal too that'd be great ;]
