what is the factor of 6ab + 8bc ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Let's factor out any common factors.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

6ab+8bx have the common factors of 2b. Therefore, 2b(3a+4x) is what we get after factoring out the 2b. Does this answer your question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The common factor(s) of 6ab+8bc is 2b. That's all I know...

Thankyou, I have more questions here

What is the factor of 14xy - 21y - 7x ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well ask yourself this: What do all of the terms have as a common factor? If I had 10x + 10y + 10z + 10r... what do they all have in common as a common factor? A 10 right? And If I had 5x + 10y + 10z + 10r... What do they all have in common? A 5 can be taken out of eaxh of these leaving 5(x+2y+2z+2r) Because after we multiply all these out, we get back to the 5x + 10y + 10z + 10r? Is this making sense?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So 5x + 10y is a 5 -> 5(x+2y) Or 5xy + 10x is a 5 and an x -> 5x(y+2)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Back to your question: All of these in 14xy - 21y - 7x have 7 as a common factor. 7(2xy - 3y - x) because after we distribute back in the 7, we get 14xy - 21y - 7x
