Can someone please help me with this real quick

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sam decides to build a square garden. If the area of the garden is 4x2 − 20x + 25 square feet, what is the length of one side of the garden? (5x + 2) feet (5x − 2) feet (2x + 5) feet (2x − 5) feet

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Key word here is Square. What do the sides of squares have in common?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They are all the same length

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Awesome. And how do we find the area of a square?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Square on of the sides

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok i see

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So it is the last one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So with your first option. It is saying if one side is (5x+2) feet. Then we need to multiply (5x+2) times itself (5x+2) and see if it comes out to be 4x^2-20x+25. And just do the same with the others until you get a match! Hint: There is a (-) in 4x^2-20x+25 This means we cannot have a + sign inside one of the sides.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

(5x+2)(5x+2) cannot be right. Because we have a (-) inside the 4x^2-20x+25. Let's rule out A.

B or D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i saw that that is what made me try the last one and it is the answer thank you for your help

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Absolutely, np. =0)
