How would I factor 2x^2+400x=0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So far I factored out the GCF(2) But I have no idea what to do next...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@Cosmichaotic can you help me?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well you have another factor you can factor out besides just the 2.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Correct!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so that means the two solutions would be x=0 and x=-400?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-200*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[2x ^{2}+400x = 0\rightarrow 2x(x+200)\] Where if you set x = 0 you get 0 and if you set x = -200 you also get 0, so that is absolutely right.
