Help!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anteater):

Start by putting in 1 for n. The second, third, and fourth choices will give you the first term 3, so you have eliminated the first choice. Now, put 2 in for n to see which one of those will give you the next term, 6. And continue this way, eliminating choices

OpenStudy (anteater):

Please let me know which one you think it is, and I can verify if you would like. :)

OpenStudy (aum):

Each term is getting multiplied by 2 to get the next term. Therefore, this is a geometric sequence implying exponents are involved which will help you to quickly eliminate a couple of choices.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think it would be the 4th answer

OpenStudy (anteater):

As aum said, it is actually a geometric sequence, since each term is the previous one multiplied by 2. The first two choices are geometric and the last two are arithmetic.

OpenStudy (anteater):

So look at the first two choices again. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh wow well that makes more sense it would be the second choice!

OpenStudy (anteater):

Yes :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow thanks!!

OpenStudy (anteater):

since you are multiplying 3 by powers of 2 to get your terms.

OpenStudy (anteater):

You are welcome! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right! i was really confused on that but that makes completely more sense. Could you help me out with one more?

OpenStudy (anteater):

Sure!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was stuck between 1 and 3 I'm not completely sure

OpenStudy (anteater):

In this case to get each subsequent term, what are you multiplying by?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I feel more then positive that it is the 3rd one

OpenStudy (anteater):

You are more than positively correct :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

by 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh wow! yes!

OpenStudy (anteater):

Yes :D, so yes the third choice is right. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay then I completely understand this now thank you so much!

OpenStudy (anteater):

You are very welcome! Have a great afternoon!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You too (:

OpenStudy (anteater):

Thanks!
