OpenStudy (anonymous):

a scalene triangle is an acute triangle (always, sometimes, or never) ?

Miracrown (miracrown):

what do you think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A scalene triangle is where the sides are never equal so if 1 angle is obtuse then the other angles will be acute. If one angle is acute it is not to say that the other angles are obtuse.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What can you now infer by this information?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Never? @johnbc

OpenStudy (nikato):

|dw:1405832205907:dw| is this a scalene triangle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes.... oh thank you.

OpenStudy (nikato):

and is it an acute triangle?

Miracrown (miracrown):

Note: For example, you could have a 60 degree angle, a 70 degree angle, and a 50 degree angle which would make this true. But you could also have a 95 degree angle, a 45 degree angle, and a 50 degree angle which would make this statement false. It would be false because a 95 degree angle is an obtuse angle not a acute angle.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes. thank you both! @Miracrown @nikato

OpenStudy (nikato):

no problem. so what did you get as your answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I put sometimes after I looked at @miracrown 's answer as well as yours @nikato

OpenStudy (nikato):

yup. thats correct

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks!

OpenStudy (nikato):

your welcome!
