who is good in formulas?

OpenStudy (imstuck):

What is it you need?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Find the midpoint of the line segment whose endpoints are (3, 10) and (7, 8).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if you dont know thats fine

OpenStudy (imstuck):

Ok, then you need the midpoint formula. And of course I know! I will help!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks i need it!!!

OpenStudy (imstuck):

This is the midpoint formula:

OpenStudy (imstuck):

\[(\frac{ x _{1}+x _{2} }{ 2 },\frac{ y _{1}+y _{2} }{ 2 })\]

OpenStudy (imstuck):

For you that would look like this:

OpenStudy (imstuck):

\[(\frac{ 3+7 }{ 2 },\frac{ 10+8 }{ 2 })\]which of course looks like this when you do the math:

OpenStudy (imstuck):

\[(\frac{ 10 }{2 },\frac{ 18 }{ 2 })\]\[(5,9)\]

OpenStudy (imstuck):

That's your midpoint!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thank you if i need more help mind if i tag you?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ill need alot lol

OpenStudy (imstuck):

you always add the x coordinates together and divide them by 2 and add the y coordinates together and divide them by 2. Its like what you do if you need to find the average of something. Yes you can tag me!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thankyou
