Help please! Algebra 1

OpenStudy (kaliyah0524):

Dan poured 5 cups of water into a rectangular container measuring 8 inches by 6 inches by 7 centimeters. [1 cup = 14.44 cubic inches; 1 inch = 2.54 cm] Part A: What is the maximum volume of water that the rectangular container can hold? Show your work. (3 points) Part B: How many cubic inches of water was poured into the container? (3 points) Part C: What was the height of the water in the container? Show your work. (4 points) Measurement is given as length by width by height.

OpenStudy (imstuck):

volume is found by multiplying length times widdth times height, so 8 * 6 * 7 = 336 inches cubed.

OpenStudy (imstuck):

if 1 cup is 14.44 cubic inches and he poured in 5 cups, then he poured in 5 * 14.44 which is 72.2 cubic inches of water.

OpenStudy (kaliyah0524):

The 8 & 6 is in inches the 7 is centimeters tho

OpenStudy (imstuck):

oh that changes everything. Let me redo.

OpenStudy (imstuck):

total volume in centimeters is 2167.74

OpenStudy (imstuck):

or in inches it would be 132.28 cubic inches.

OpenStudy (imstuck):

That's part A in both cubic centimeters and cubic inches. take your pick.

OpenStudy (imstuck):

Part B remains unchanged.

OpenStudy (imstuck):

Now for part C...

OpenStudy (kaliyah0524):

How did you figure out Part A? I need to show work

OpenStudy (imstuck):

I did a conversion from inches to centimeters like this:
