3/4i ????

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[i = \sqrt{-1}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

right right @Catch.me

OpenStudy (nick88888888):

- 0.75 i, lol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what do you need?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

would it be -3i/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

just divide -3 over 4 and let i be a symbol

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like -3x/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so... it would be -3i/4 ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What is the question for that you can let it as is is -(3/4)i or as Nick88888888 did

OpenStudy (scorcher219396):

Well yes it is -3i/4, because you multiply both top and bottom by i (since it represents sqrt -1, you can't leave it in the denominator, you must rationalize) So the top would be left with 3i, bottom would be 4i^2, which simplifies to -4 and thats how you get -3i/4

OpenStudy (scorcher219396):

^I'm assuming that's the answer they want, not in decimal form
