Nnesha (nnesha):

need some help

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

is there.... .a question?

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

also I can't tell if the line from top angle is an angle bisector

OpenStudy (jdoe0001):

hmmm not sure I follow it

Nnesha (nnesha):

what??

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

using Law of Sines ... i get x = 4/3

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

@Nnesha , what is the 3/2 referring to?

Nnesha (nnesha):

but we are not using law of sines in this chapter parallel line and proportional parts

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

yes that proportion will work ... sorry to confuse you i had forgotten that would work so i used law of signs which gives the proof for why you can set up the proportion

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

in other words i did more work than i needed to lol

Nnesha (nnesha):

:) yeah

Nnesha (nnesha):

???

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

well what are they asking for? x = 4/3 i dont know what 3/2 is referring to?

Nnesha (nnesha):

wait i'll show you my work

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

@Nnesha , what are you saying is 3/2? the proportion? if so then you are correct

Nnesha (nnesha):

so both can be answer of this question ?

OpenStudy (dumbcow):

oh i see since i worked it our differently i missed the solution x=3/2 yes your work is correct :) however when x=3/2 notice that the lengths become 0 for "2x-3" and "4/3x -2" 0/0 is not a useful proportion and does not equal 6/3x so x=3/2 is a extraneous solution

Nnesha (nnesha):

ohh thanks a lot
