OpenStudy (samsan9):

Use synthetic division to find the quotient and the remainder for the problem. (12x^4+5x^3+3x^2-5)+(x+1) what is the number you should use for the divisor in this problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is the plus sign supposed to be a minus sign? If so you should use -1.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-1 | 12 5 3 0 -5 -12 7 -10 10 --------------------------------- 12 -7 10 -10 -5

OpenStudy (samsan9):

oh no the + before (x+1) was supposed to be a division sign...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know why I typed minus, I meant division. But yeah, that's the synthetic division worked out, just give values to the numbers. 12x^3 -7x^2 +10x-10, R -5.

OpenStudy (samsan9):

so it isnt supposed to be zero and if it is -5 then thank you very much

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No problem.
